Kenny Omega Reacts To Criticism Of AEW’s Women’s Division, Not Signing Deonna Purrazzo

Kenny Omega’s message is simple — watch what you enjoy.

Last night, IMPACT Wrestling announced they signed Deonna Purrazzo to a contract, and the move was met with near-universal praise. Purrazzo had been released by WWE on April 15 and while her NXT career didn’t pan out as hoped, she’s still a sought-after name in the wrestling business.

One fan offered a backhanded compliment for IMPACT’s great move, taking the opportunity to tag Kenny Omega in the post and knock AEW for not building their division. Omega responded, noting he was happy for Deonna but that doesn’t mean AEW’s women’s division is lacking in any way.

Truly happy for Deonna but I’m incredibly proud of our division and its athletes. You should try watching some of our matches. Start with the recent title match from a few days ago and then honestly tell me we need help.

When the fan responded again and tried to explain his position, Omega was diplomatic in his reply and told the fan he disagreed with his opinion and said he should watch what he likes.

Some strong thoughts that I very much disagree with, but that’s completely fine. Watch what you enjoy, sir.
