In a recent episode of the podcast “Busted Open Radio”, Kelani Jordan, the esteemed NXT Women’s North American Champion, discussed about her pathway to professional wrestling.
Here are some key takeaways from the podcast discussion:
When asked about her journey towards wrestling, Kelani Jordan shared, “Growing up with four brothers, I was exposed to wrestling at an early age. However, during my middle and high school years, my attention shifted towards securing a scholarship and mastering gymnastics, so I couldn’t invest as much time in wrestling. Gratefully, I had the opportunity to appear at SummerSlam’s tryout in 2022 and join the Performance Center. Now, I am taking history classes and studying old matches, doing whatever I can to make up for lost time and learn about significant events in wrestling that occurred before I was born.”
Discussing her ongoing growth within the ring, she stated, “Variations in selling is something I am still mastering, depending on who my opponent is. The size of the opponent plays a crucial role in how I should sell; for example, it’s different when facing someone bigger than me compared to someone of my size or smaller.”
