Keith Lee Stuns Randy Orton, Pins Him At WWE Payback

At WWE Payback, Keith Lee faced Randy Orton in Lee’s first singles match on a main roster pay-per-view. Lee faced Orton on WWE RAW this week, but the match ended when WWE Champion Drew McIntyre interfered. In the rematch, Lee hoped to avenge McIntyre after Orton punted him several times on WWE RAW. Orton used his veteran expertise to counter Lee’s impressive athleticism. Lee floored Orton with a crossbody to gain momentum early on. Orton told Lee he demands his respect before he gave him a few stiff chops. Lee dropped Orton with a chop of his own.

Orton slammed Lee on the announce table and took control of the match. He grounded Lee, but the former NXT Champion launched Orton out of the ring with a Pounce. Lee slammed Orton on the announce table, but a spike DDT gave Orton control of the match. Lee countered an RKO into the Spirit Bomb for the shocking win.
