This year, AEW’s President, Tony Khan, can be credited with some noticeable investments in marquee signings. Previously, we had shared that acclaimed wrestler Kazuchika Okada had come onboard AEW with a three-year contract worth an estimated 2 billion yen, which roughly translates to .5 million. However, the effect of this significant investment on AEW’s fortunes has yet to be definitively assessed.
There have been mixed responses among AEW enthusiasts regarding Okada’s representation within the wrestling company. It even went as far as one fan questioning whether the esteemed former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion was being portrayed as a comics-based wrestler.
Max Caster, replying to this inquiry, rather bluntly stated, “Okada has always been a joke. You must not have watched New Japan.”
When put forward the idea of a match between him and Okada, Caster asserted confidently, “You wanna see me beat the sh*t out of him? Because I can.”
Reacting to a remark on how Okada used to garner respect, Caster rebutted with, “He’s a psy, I never respected him.”
To date, Okada has not made any public comments in response to these statements.
