In an epic, gritty showdown, Kenny Omega successfully retained the AEW International Championship at AEW Dynasty 2025, besting contenders “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Ricochet. Both opponents exhibited prowess and skill, with several near-misses that threatened a title shift.
Ricochet, nonetheless, was pinned down while Bailey was stuck in the corner, unable to interrupt the three-count.
During Omega’s victory celebration, surprise music marked the entrance of “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada for an unexpected face-off.
Omega and Okada share a historic rivalry, and there were indications earlier this year that a match might be on the cards, possibly at AEW All In: Texas—although no confirmation has been released yet.
There are rumours of a match where titles could be unified, given that Omega continues to be the international champion and Okada retains the AEW Continental Championship.
Even with Okada appearing for a likely confrontation, Omega chose to exit the ring promptly. Commentators rapidly pointed out that Omega exhibited the first sign of retreat, and highlighted his strategic move to avoid another brawl following a strenuous match.
