Following the WWE WrestleMania 41 weekend, Karrion Kross emerged in the limelight following his forthright comments on the “RAW Recap” podcast. His remarks, mixing personal grievances with his latest storyline involving AJ Styles, became a talking point across the Internet. Kross candidly critiqued the assumption that being a “good soldier” in WWE often correlates with being discharged, and insinuated that he might have been sidelined by the company for a match against Randy Orton, with Joe Hendry being the preferred choice to pursue a “viral moment.”

Later, on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Kross shed light on how his comments were greeted backstage.

From the podcast, here are some outstanding excerpts:

Regarding his remarks and the ensuing response backstage: “I wasn’t expressing dissatisfaction in my comments post-WrestleMania, I was simply expressing a strong desire and hunger for more. I wish to become an essential part of the show, rather than a mere participant or a disruptor. Some misinterpreted my comments as a complaint, but it was simply about being seen and heard. I was warmly received by my colleagues the day after the podcast, some even applauded me and thanked me. While not everyone was pleased, it was a rewarding experience.”

About the disclosure of his contract status: “The reveal of my contract details flipped my switch. Who might have done it remains a mystery, but I was extremely upset about it since it was a breach of my privacy.”.

On his on-screen work becoming more genuine: “My perspective changed when I worked with Miz. I can’t pinpoint the moment, but I realized that authenticity has a stronger appeal to the audience.”

On his last-minute inclusion in WrestleMania 41 match: “Though it was a surprise, I felt extremely grateful for any role in the event. One should never lose sight of the appreciation for having even the smallest part of something so grand.”

On his initial omission from the event: “The confusion about not being on the original plan for WrestleMania was there. However, my goal is to give my best performance regardless of the situation, and aim for an impactful presence whether it’s a mere background shot or a brief cameo.”

On Logan Paul’s involvement with WWE: “I don’t have an issue with Logan Paul or any outsider joining the show, provided they understand the struggle of committed full-time wrestlers. It shouldn’t be presumed that only people from other fields can generate viral moments. We have the talent to do it too.”
