FSW recently put on their Mecca X – Benefit for Bey fundraising event, all in aid of Chris Bey’s recovery from a near-paralyzing neck injury last year. Much to everyone’s surprise, Bey managed to walk himself into the ring at the event.

Whilst on the “Unlikely” podcast, WWE Superstar, Karrion Kross, revealed that none of the wrestlers demanded any form of compensation for participating in the event. He went on to share his emotional connection with the fans, saying,

Seeing the same faces, from the crew behind the scenes to dedicated fans whom I remember from a decade ago, it brought back a torrent of memories and emotions. It was a poignant reminder of our shared love for wrestling.

When prodded about whether WWE gave permission for his participation in the event, Kross responded, “Even if they’d said no, I couldn’t have backed out of this, out of respect for Chris. I was there when he started his wrestling journey, was his mentor and more. The least I could do was be present in this pressing time for him. With Netflix boosting our visibility globally, what better platform to raise awareness about Chris’s health condition and channel monetary benefits towards his recovery? Everything from the event proceeds to the streaming services earnings on Triller went to back up Chris, no exceptions.”

As a recent update, Josh Barnett disclosed that Karrion Kross would be facing JR Kratos in the upcoming Bloodsport XIII event on April 17, Las Vegas.

The refreshed lineup for Bloodsport III holds promising battles which include:

  • A face-off between Miyu Yamashita and Natalya
  • Timothy Thatcher battling it out with Pete Dunne
  • Leyla Hirsch pitted against Jordan Blade
  • Charlie Dempsey versus Shinya Aoki
  • Karmen Petrovic taking on MAIKA
  • Karrion Kross combatting JR Kratos

Also joining the roster are David Modzmanashvili, Tom Lawlor, Simon Gotch, Jonathan Gresham, Royce Isaacs, Konami, and Gabe Kidd.
