Karrion Kross Defeats Austin Theory To Kick Off NXT, Agrees To Rematch With Finn Balor
If you cross Scarlett, then you better be prepared to deal with Karrion Kross. Austin Theory wasn’t to kick off NXT, but Finn Balor is.
Kross came out with his “Fall & Pray” pomp and circumstance as Gargano tries to hype Theory up, but it’s Austin who is very unsure of himself. As he should be because Karrion took care of business and puntuacted that gameplan with a massive lariat and soon follows that up with an equally devastating boot. Kross stomps on Theory’s hand as he literally laughs in Gargano’s face, right before giving him a Saito suplex. Doomsday was on tap for Theory, but Gargano hopped on the apron to distract the official and it allowed Theory to take advantage. He spilled the brawl to the outside and stayed on top of the NXT Champion. Theory takes that momentum back in the ring eventually. Big shotgun dropkick by Theory, but it was only good for a count of one.
Koss stays on course and hits not one, but two more Saito suplexes and in comes Doomsday. He hammer punches Theory in the back of the head before Kross cinches in a rear naked choke. Theory is out cold and the official calls for the bell.
Post-match, Kross finds himself standing triumphant next to Finn Balor who states “You know I want my rematch.” Kross concurs with that ideal and it appears we have that lined up for two weeks potentially.
