Several weeks ago, Dr. Britt Baker issued a challenge to Mercedes Moné in hopes of securing an AEW TBS Championship match between the two at AEW All In London. After coming out on top in her match against Hikaru Shida on this week’s AEW Dynamite, Baker faced a resolute “no” from “The CEO” Mercedes Moné.
However, the spotlight wasn’t on the denial of the title match that many are predicting will come to pass in the future. Instead, all eyes were on the towering newcomer to the All Elite Wrestling’s women’s division, Kamille!
The former NWA World Women’s Champion, who held her title for an impressive 812 days in a single reign—the fifth longest in the history of the competition behind The Fabulous Moolah (9,925 days across 4/5 reigns), Debbie Combs (3,461 days in 2 reigns), Jazz (948 days in 1 reign), and MsChif (916 days across 2 reigns) had inked a deal with AEW several months prior and had been eagerly awaiting her inaugural appearance.
Making her game-changing entrance, Kamille has instantly stamped her mark as an intimidating force not to be trifled with. It’s clear why someone like Moné would want Kamille in her corner for support.
A pivotal tweet from All Elite Wrestling encapsulated the moment perfectly:
“The CEO” & TBS Champion Mercedes Moné has an answer for Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D!
