Junior dos Santos To Make AEW In-Ring Debut On 10/16 AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin Not Cleared To Compete
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos has plenty of experience in the octagon, but he’ll venture into the squared circle for the first time on the October 16 edition of AEW Dynamite. On this special Saturday night episode, JDS will team up with Men of the Year (Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky) to face Chris Jericho, Jake Hager and AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara of the Inner Circle.
This six-man tag team bout will be the latest chapter of the ongoing feud between Jericho’s stable’s and Dan Lambert‘s group of fighters. Led by Lambert, American Top Team memorably beat “Le Champion” up at AEW Rampage: Grand Slam, and this contest will offer him a chance to get some revenge. On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Lambert and his allies attacked Guevara after his successful TNT Championship defense. Once Jericho and Hager saved their stablemate, Lambert challenged the trio to face JDS, Page and Sky next week. He also revealed that UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal will be at ringside to support American Top Team and Men of the Year.
During that same attack at “Grand Slam”, Masvidal drilled Jericho with a nasty knee to the head.

As of this writing, this six-man bout is the only confirmed match for the October 16 show. A heated bout between MJF and Darby Allin had been announced during Dynamite on Wednesday, but The Pinnacle brutally attacked the former AEW TNT Champion backstage later in the show; Allin was subsequently declared unable to compete.
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
