AEW TBS Champion Julia Hart has admitted it was difficult for her to incorporate her cheerleading into wrestling before joining the House of Black.

On a recent edition of the “Five Count” podcast, Hart looked back on her cheerleader character and how things are different for her now. She said,

“I think I did the cheerleader just because it was easy and I had been a cheerleader for six years. ‘Oh, it’ll be easy.’ It was actually really hard for me to translate cheerleading into wrestling because they are two different things. It was like hitting heads for me, character-wise. Being with Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews, it helped me develop a wrestler side instead of trying so hard to be a cheerleader.”

Hart won the AEW TBS Championship at Full Gear 2023 by dethroning Kris Statlander. Hart’s victory marks her first title in AEW and makes her the third TBS Champion ever.

While Hart has been appearing for AEW for some time, she was only recently made a full-time member of the roster very recently.
