The “Mr. McMahon” docuseries brought to us by Netflix features Vince McMahon and his family, along with a host of other significant individuals. Surprisingly, however, Jim Ross was not contacted for input in the series.
This docuseries, with its six one-hour episodes, offers a deep dive into the accomplishments and disputes of McMahon’s life, reaching its climax with Janel Grant’s litigation and his departure from WWE.
During a recent episode of his podcast “Grilling JR”, Ross commented that the producers of the show never reached out to him. He shared,
“When I heard they were creating it, I thought my agent Barry Bloom would have had some involvement in it. But they never reached out to us. Even Bill Simmons’s team didn’t contact us. I’m not certain I would have even agreed to participate. It would have depended on what they sought.
“I’ve got everything that they could possibly need. Drama, all of it. Working with Vince was a journey. Keeping up with him was a marathon. I would have had to ponder it, but in any case, I never received a call from them asking me if I was interested.”
Interestingly, on the newest edition of “The Ringer Wrestling Show,” David Shoemaker, the docuseries’ consulting producer, expressed his wish to have interviewed Jim Ross.
