Netflix’s recent docuseries, titled Mr. McMahon, features interviews with McMahon himself, his family, and some significant personalities in the scene. However, one notable figure who was not included is Jim Ross.

Comprised of six extensive hour-long episodes, the series deeply explores McMahon’s professional life, highlighting his major successes and numerous controversies. The spotlight is arguably on Janel Grant’s lawsuit, which consequently resulted in McMahon’s departure from the WWE.

Wrestling commentator Jim Ross, on a recent episode of his podcast “Grilling JR,” revealed that he was never asked to participate in the documentary. He expressed,

“When I got wind of the project, it crossed my mind that my agent Barry Bloom would be involved in some capacity. But we were never contacted. Even Bill Simmons’s team didn’t reach out to us. I’m not even sure if I would have agreed to be part of it. It entirely depends on what they wanted from me.

“I genuinely have the elements they might be seeking — drama and all that jazz. My time with Vince was anything but dull. Keeping up with him was like running a marathon. I would have given the offer some thought had I been approached, but unfortunately, I was never contacted about possible participation.”

David Shoemaker, the show’s consulting producer, expressed regret about this missed opportunity during a recent episode of “The Ringer Wrestling Show.” He mentioned that he would have been thrilled to interview Ross for the series.
