On the recent episode of the “Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling” podcast, wrestling star Josh Barnett shared insights about his forthcoming match with MVP at GCW Bloodsport XII. He shed light onto the difficulties he would face during his confrontation on the ring.
MVP threw down the gauntlet to Barnett at the last Bloodsport event, citing him for the forthcoming show.
Barnett shared, “People are becoming more familiar with the Bloodsport and how it exhibits a unique set of skills. And there is a growing understanding of MVP’s journey in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, his black belt, and the competitions he’s won. It’s not always in the public eye, but it becomes evident in a show like this. People overlook the fact that MVP is a veteran, with a rich history in WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, showing the experience and skill he gained. MVP’s capabilities are evidently unique to him. From the last time we locked on the mats till now, he has evolved from a blue belt to a black belt. Also, he’s quite a big man, extremely strong, which people tend to forget while seeing him on social media or as a spokesperson for Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. But just because he talks, doesn’t mean he can’t fight.”
In another episode of the “Ring The Belle” podcast, early 2000s WWE manager Hiroko Suzuki, revealed her desire to return for the Royal Rumble. Suzuki once managed Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki and had confrontations with Torrie Wilson. Her last return was at SHW RumbleJack in August.
Suzuki expressed, “I’d love to do that. It’s an exhilarating experience. I remember Jimmy calling me and asking, ‘Hiroko, are you in?’ I felt incapacitated due to age and memory lapse. But once I stepped on the ring, it was marvelous. I loved it.”
