Josh Alexander On ‘The North’ Reunion: I’m Not Even Considering It Unless It’s Against FTR

Josh Alexander is down for a reunion with Ethan Page as The North… but only if it’s against FTR.
Josh Alexander recently spoke with Jon Alba for the premiere of AdFreeShows.com‘s One on One interview series. During the conversation, Alexander was asked about his level of interest for walking through the “forbidden door” as a tag team wrestler to reunite with Ethan Page.
The North vs. FTR has been proposed as a dream match for several years, including last year when IMPACT’s Scott D’Amore proposed a “home-and-home” series between the two teams. The North split up at the end of 2020 and Page moved on to AEW, but Alexander says he’d entertain getting back together for a cross-promotional match if —and only if — it was FTR standing on the opposite side of the ring.
“Only if it’s against FTR. I’m telling you, I’m not even considering it unless it’s against FTR,” Alexander said. “That’s the only [team] that’s getting me interested in that possibility right now.
“I think Dax and Cash are the greatest tag team in the last twenty years, and — sorry for the hot take everybody, if people are mad about that — but they exemplify tag team wrestling. That’s one thing that we did as a tag team, as The North,” he explained, “was to put an emphasis on tag team wrestling, using the rules to your advantage and using the rules [in general]. That’s really something that’s been lost on the independents from a tag team perspective and I think Cash and Dax, much the same, we hold those things in the same light and I think the matchup would be something very special. Dax is an enormous Bret Hart fan just like me and I want to see which one is more of a Bret Hart fan.”

Ethan Page is currently unpinned in All Elite Wrestling and looks to keep that record intact as he, Scorpio Sky and Junior Dos Santos will team against the Inner Circle on the October 15 episode of AEW Rampage. Josh Alexander’s singles career is still on the rise, as he will challenge Christian Cage for the IMPACT World Championship at Bound For Glory on October 23.
