Wrestler Josh Alexander from TNA Wrestling did not hold back when expressing his emotional response to the unexpected departure of Scott D’Amore from the promotion. D’Amore was dismissed from TNA by parent organization Anthem, which followed soon after TNA’s successful restart with the Hard to Kill pay-per-view event in January.

The action was met with disapproval from both fans and fellow wrestlers, as D’Amore had steered TNA through several challenging periods and was a significant contributor to the promotion’s relaunch.

During a recent episode of the podcast “Insight,” Alexander reflected on D’Amore’s exit. He revealed his reaction saying,

“I was honestly overcome with emotion when I learned he was dismissed. He had mentored me and provided invaluable guidance and support.”

“The news came like a bolt from the blue and left me wondering about the dynamics of our bond and my reaction to his departure,”

A letter was submitted by TNA performers on behalf of the entire team, pleading with Anthem to rethink their decision. However, it was not fruitful, and D’Amore was replaced by the Anthem executive, Anthony Cicione.

Meanwhile, D’Amore has moved on and brought back Maple Leaf Wrestling, staging two events in October featuring Alexander and other TNA players.
