TNA Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace, surprised fans with an unexpected appearance at the Tropicana Field on Saturday night, where she participated in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match. Grace started the match at the number 5 position and remained in the ring for 11 minutes and 32 seconds, until she was finally defeated by Bianca Belair.
Jordynne Grace spilled the beans about her shocking WWE Royal Rumble debut on the latest episode of the “Gigantic Pop” podcast. She let listeners in on the behind-the-scenes maneuvering that landed her in the WWE ring.
Wilson, also known as Tyson Kidd, was the one who championed for her inclusion during the WWE’s decision-making meetings to decide the participants for the Royal Rumble. Grace confessed on the podcast, “Actually, I recently found this out. I found out that TJ Wilson was the one who put my name in the hat during a creative meeting. I haven’t had a chance to mention this in any previous interviews because I just found out about it. He had seen my match-up with Trinity at Hard to Kill. Since the WWE was contemplating who to invite because they had no major surprises up their sleeve, he suggested me. I haven’t thanked him personally yet, so if you’re listening, TJ, thank you.”
Grace had previously shown up at the WWE NXT: Battleground 2024 pay-per-view event. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful at dethroning NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez in that instance.
