Following the news that Lance Archer has contracted COVID-19, Jon Moxley has revealed that he will defend the All Elite Wrestling World Championship on the September 23 episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite on TNT.
Initially, Moxley was supposed to team with Will Hobbs and Darby Allin against the trio of Brian Cage, Ricky Starks, and Lance Archer in an effort to build towards Moxley’s upcoming AEW Championship defense against Archer on the October 14 episode of Dynamite.

In the spirit of the wrestling tradition of making sure the replacement is better than the original, Jon Moxley will now defend the championship tonight against Eddie Kingston, Kingston’s claim to the championship stems from the fact that he says he was never eliminated from the Casino Battle Royale at AEW All Out back on September 5.
Change of plans. I'm putting up the title tonight. Live TV babe. #AEWDynamite
