“The timing of it was crazy,” Moxley said. “I was gone one way or another. I was going to give it all up. I didn’t give a f— if I was never on TV again. I’d go wrestle in a f—ing mask in Mexico in a parking lot if it means having fun again. I hate speaking in the third person because it feels so f—ing pretentious, but speaking from a character standpoint, it just makes it easier. But it was like as Jon Moxley was getting his release date from jail and walking into the world again, it just happened to be when AEW was starting. If there was no AEW, I think I’d be doing the exact same thing, just in a bunch of other places. You’d probably see me in f—in’ Japan or Revolver, places like that. It probably wouldn’t be that much different.”

Jon Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose in WWE, made a significant career move in 2019 when he decided to join All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Moxley expressed that the timing of his departure from WWE and the creation of AEW was quite remarkable. He stated, “I was gone one way or another. I was going to give it all up. From a character standpoint, Moxley compared his release from WWE to being released from jail and entering the world again. It just so happened that AEW was starting at the same time. However, he believes that if AEW had not existed, he would still be pursuing wrestling in various other places. He mentioned Japan and Revolver as potential destinations where fans would likely see him perform. Moxley’s dedication to wrestling and his willingness to explore different opportunities is evident in his statement.
