In a recent discussion with CBS Sports, wrestler Jon Moxley brought up the accomplishments of LA Knight in WWE after spending 20 years tirelessly working in the independent wrestling scene.
Both Knight and Moxley were on the same team in Sunday Night Heat’s 2006 episode. They competed against The Big Show, but were unfortunately defeated.
Moxley conveyed his admiration for Knight’s achievements stating, “The thing I love about it is, it’s the perfect example of an overnight success story that took 20 years. People think, in all walks of life, they become impatient for results and abandon their dreams when obstacles and challenges arise, particularly in this unpredictable sport. Everyone’s journey to the top involves trials and tribulations, but people often give up too easily. Knight, despite the odds, remained true to his goal and persevered for numerous years. Suddenly, it may appear like he bagged a role in WWE out of nowhere, that’s far from the fact. It took him two decades of rigorous grind to reach that stage. His journey is indeed a lesson to be learned.”
In other WWE news, Dragon Lee emerged as the new men’s Speed Champion, having defeated Andrade on WWE Speed this week. Both Lee and Triple H aired their reactions via Twitter.
Expressing his happiness, Triple H tweeted, “He’s delivered incredible performances throughout this entire No. 1 Contender’s Tournament… and now, he’s your NEW #WWESpeed Champion. Huge congrats to @dragonlee95 on this well-deserved victory”
Lee responded to Triple H’s tweet saying, “Thank you for the opportunity. I will carry this championship with pride and defend it with honour.”
Further, some WWE Superstars attended the world premiere of Disney’s sequel, Moana 2.
