Tonight’s episode of NXT opened with a big tag team match between Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory and Leon Ruff & Kushida, with Gargano and Theory looking to continue their dominant run over Ruff and Kushida. In a big win, Gargano did end up taking down his new rivals, showing everyone just how successful the Gargano Way can be.
Initially, things were going very well for both Ruff and Kushida, but it fell apart towards the end of the match. Late in the contest, Ruff hit Gargano with a big flying cutter that he followed up with a crucifix bomb, but Gargano wasn’t the legal man in the match, meaning it couldn’t end. Instead, Austin Theory landed a brutal superkick on Ruff, before following it up with The Way to end things.
