During the post-show media scrum for WWE Fastlane 2023, John Cena commented on his current stint in WWE, which is happening due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
When asked about when he thinks his current run in WWE will come to an end, “The Champ” revealed that the end of the strike and a return to Hollywood would likely trigger the end of his time in the company due to the liability insurance. He said,
“They do. I’ve made it clear that you can’t do both because of the liability insurance. If I were to try and juggle both, that’s very selfish because I would put a whole lot of people in the movie business out of work if something were to happen to me. Yes, I stopped a project in the middle of it — I can’t even talk about the project because of the strike, but we’re in the middle of it. As soon as we get back to work, we go back to work. I don’t control any of that. I’m crossing my fingers and I hope we can find a resolve everyone is happy with. For right now, I feel this is the best way I can help. To come back home to my family.”

John Cena Discusses His Current WWE Run Amidst the SAG-AFTRA Strike
During a post-show media scrum for WWE Fastlane 2023, John Cena opened up about his current stint in WWE and how it is related to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Cena’s return to the wrestling ring has been met with excitement from fans, but it seems that his time in WWE may be limited.
When asked about when he thinks his current run in WWE will come to an end, Cena explained that the end of the strike and a return to Hollywood would likely trigger his departure from the company. The reason behind this decision is liability insurance. Cena stated, “They do. I’ve made it clear that you can’t do both because of the liability insurance. If I were to try and juggle both, that’s very selfish because I would put a whole lot of people in the movie business out of work if something were to happen to me.”
Cena further elaborated on the situation, mentioning that he had to stop a project in the middle of it due to the strike. Although he couldn’t disclose details about the project, he expressed his hope for a resolution that would make everyone involved happy. Until then, Cena believes that returning to WWE is the best way he can contribute and spend time with his family.
The SAG-AFTRA strike has had a significant impact on the entertainment industry, affecting various productions and causing delays in filming schedules. The strike is primarily centered around issues such as fair wages, better working conditions, and improved protections for actors and other industry professionals.
John Cena’s return to WWE has been a major highlight for fans who have missed seeing him in the ring. Known as “The Champ,” Cena has had a successful career in both wrestling and acting. His transition into Hollywood has seen him star in blockbuster movies such as “Trainwreck,” “Bumblebee,” and the upcoming “The Suicide Squad.”
While fans are undoubtedly excited to see Cena back in action, it’s clear that his return is temporary and contingent on the resolution of the strike. Cena’s dedication to his craft and consideration for others in the industry is commendable, as he prioritizes the well-being of those involved in the movie business.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy Cena’s presence in WWE and witness his legendary wrestling skills once again. His matches and promos continue to captivate audiences, reminding everyone why he is one of the most beloved figures in professional wrestling.
