John Cena Sr., the patriarch of the acclaimed WWE superstar, revealed that he will maintain silence about his son’s startling transformation into a villain at the Elimination Chamber: Toronto pay-per-view event.

In this unexpected turn of events, the younger Cena swapped sides after more than two decades, forming an alliance with The Rock and launching an attack on WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

During a recent appearance on the “WrestleBinge” podcast, the father of the wrestling champion was inquired about his progeny’s controversial shift in character. His response was,

“I’m tired of guys like you, I’m tired of the other phone calls that I’m getting. I don’t know why he did what he did. You’re gonna have to get that from him. I am so tired of this. Why don’t we just let it play out and find out what’s happening?”

The irked Cena Sr. continued to express his exasperation when speaking to journalist Bill Apter, firmly rejecting further questioning with,

“A reporter is a reporter. Listen Bill Apter, ‘friend,’ enough is enough. Thanks! I won’t say what Cody Rhodes said to you, but what I will say is: have a nice day and thanks for nothing.”

In a similar fashion, John Cena Jr. maintained his silence, refusing to make any statement during the press conference following the pay-per-view.

The villainous version of Cena is set to go up against Cody Rhodes, battling for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Nevada in the following month.
