Carmelo Hayes has openly stated that he is in the front when it comes to contenders wanting a match with the esteemed 16-time WWE World Champion, John Cena. Cena is scheduled to initiate his retirement tour in the coming January.
In a recent interaction with Denise Salcedo, Hayes issued an implicit challenge to the WWE legend, Cena. Hayes offered,
“I don’t really like to make assumptions, but this moment calls for a call-out. As I was mentioning earlier, John Cena is beginning his retirement journey. He openly put out the challenge – if you want a piece, come claim it. To be honest with you, I believe I’m right there at the beginning of the queue that is going to respond to his challenge.”
Hayes continued, emphasizing, “So Cena, I’m just signaling you upfront, your era is over and the time is now.”
