John Cena returned to WWE television on the September 1st episode of WWE SmackDown from The Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, before serving as the host of Payback 2023 the following night and as the special guest referee for LA Knight vs. The Miz.

The former WWE Champion is also set to travel to India with the company for the upcoming WWE Superstar Spectacle show at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium on Friday, September 8th, where he will team with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to face off against Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium.

Cena, who is also booked for several upcoming SmackDown shows, tweeted the following about going to India:
