The mystery behind John Cena’s choice of ring attire has finally been unravelled. He wears jorts, which are jean shorts, and finally shared the reason behind this choice.
In a discussion with the estimable Wall Street Journal, Cena disclosed that the prime motivation behind opting for denim shorts is the durability they offer. He emphatically stated,
“My decision to wear jorts stems from the countless trials and tribulations of other materials. Denim exhibits tremendous resilience, rarely rips, as long as you’re able to find the right fit. The last thing I want is for the WWE event-goers to be subjected to a view of my unattractive behind. The main thing is to find something that sits well on the butt and the thigh, which is why my wardrobe staple remains a drawstring belt.”
Cena added, “Belt buckles can be quite problematic. This wisdom comes from personal experiences. They can cause injuries such as cuts, abrasions, or scrapes and also potentially harm opponents and referees. It continues to be an unsuitable piece of equipment.”
