Joe Tessitore, acclaimed ESPN announcer, is officially joining the broadcast team of WWE in the upcoming months, as confirmed by the New York Post.
Tessitore, 53, will continue his duties with ESPN and ABC where his current roles include broadcasting for Top Rank boxing and college football.
Indications suggest that Tessitore could be heading towards the SmackDown brand as he is anticipated to take the helm of a three-person commentary team, featuring Corey Graves and Wade Barrett.
Interestingly, this new venture brings things full circle for Tessitore as he was the inaugural media client of Nick Khan, now President of WWE.
Reports also highlight that Tessitore enjoys a good rapport with WWE Chief Content Officer, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, who also holds the position of Head of Creative.
