Joe Hendry Invites Steve Austin To TNA, Swerve Strickland Praises Je’Von Evans

Joe Hendry recently dropped an invitation for WWE Hall Of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to be present in his corner for his match against Nic Nemeth at TNA Bound For Glory 2024. He expressed this wish during his guest appearance on “TheOneMonaa” podcast.

Hendry explained, I asked Mick Foley for some advice to become a TNA World Champion. His response was, ‘You just need to ensure Steve Austin is prepared to whack someone with a chair’. I thought to myself, Is that all I have to arrange? Why has no one informed me before? Therefore, having already asked Eminem to come to the match. Having challenged John Cena for about a year. Having expressed my desire for a faceoff with The Rock, I suppose it’s only fair to include Steve Austin in that list too. Austin, if you’re hearing this and could make it to Detroit to support me. I’m hopeful that Eminem will be in my corner. However, having Eminem on one side and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin on the opposite leaves us with no concerns about Frankie Kazarian.”

Swerve Strickland showed his support for WWE NXT talent Je’Von Evans during his recent participation in the “No Contest Wrestling” podcast. Strickland described being a fan of Je’Von and having the intention to back him throughout his career.

Strickland expressed, I admire Je’Von Evans enormously. I wish to see more from you. Je’Von is an incredibly talented person and one of the best things I ever heard in my career still holds to this day. When I was between WWE and AEW, conducting seminars, I encountered Je’Von in North Carolina, who was 16-17 years old in a group of about 20 people. I inquired about their backgrounds and ambitions. When I spoke to Je’Von, it was clear he stood out in the group. He mentioned, ‘Truth be told, I was inspired by watching your bout with Lio Rush in DEFY.’ It suddenly dawned on me how far I’ve come! [laughs] I saw Je’Von again this year at a show in Tampa. Now all grown up, he’s practically towering at 6’4”!’ A real specimen and yet so modest. I have a deep admiration for him. I watch just to back him up. His recent fight against Randy Orton was stunning. I will support Je’Von regardless of what he does or wherever he goes.”
