Former WWE Superstar Jinder Mahal recently revealed his thoughts on a variety of topics, including his release from WWE and rumors about Brock Lesnar, on an episode of the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast.
On his departure from WWE, Mahal said: “It was frustrating, but that’s okay… It’s time for the Bron Breakker’s and the Carmelo’s, it’s their time.” He also expressed remorse about leaving but said he was ready for new experiences and expressed gratitude for the time he had with WWE.
Mahal went on to discuss the differences between his recent release and his previous one. He stated, “This one is much different. I am a grown man now… I’ve had a great career… I have traveled the world, and I’m in a different place financially.”
He also discussed his thoughts on the Punjabi Prison Match saying, “So first off, the Punjabi Prison match sucks. It’s terrible.” He further elaborated on the difficulties of the match including the visibility problems for the crowd.
As for the rumor about Lesnar refusing to work with him, Mahal said, He said: “I don’t think he refused. I just think it was he probably pitched for a match with AJ because stylistically, it is a much better match.” He went on to say he believes Brock and Paul Heyman might have suggested the match with AJ Styles instead.
Mahal also revealed he once found out he was losing a championship on the same day of the show and recounted the moment when Vince McMahon told him he was dropping the championship.
