Jimmy Korderas Criticizes WWE’s Presentation Of World Heavyweight Championship

Seth Rollins defeated AJ Styles to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion this past weekend at WWE Night Of Champions in Saudi Arabia.

In his latest Reffin’ Rant video, WWE’s longest-tenured referee Jimmy Korderas analyzed this week’s opening promo for WWE RAW, and criticized the manner in which Rhea Ripley referred to Seth Rollins as “just another champion.”

Korderas said, “This new world heavyweight championship and does it mean a lot? And last night on Raw, they did a heck of a job trying to make it mean more, but little things again pop up. Seth Rollins kicking off Raw last night, the new World Heavyweight Champion, hell of a match with AJ Styles at the PPV/PLE. Then AJ comes out, and they do that mutual respect thing. They’re trying to make it a big deal. Then Judgment Day comes out. They want their opportunity at this title, one of ’em, Finn Balor doing most of the talking. But there was one line Rhea Ripley threw out there, and she referred to Rollins as ‘just another champion’ Now, when you’re trying to elevate this title, they’re doing a heck of a job of trying to do so with all the pomp and circumstance, but when you throw a line like that out there it makes people think otherwise. They should choose their words carefully.”
