In AEW history, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have had their ups and downs as rivals. However, the thought of them reuniting as a tag team is something that Jim Ross finds particularly intriguing.
Upon making his entrance into the world of AEW back in October 2023, Copeland swiftly set his sights on old comrade, Cage. His efforts paid off, earning him two TNT Championship titles.
During a recent episode of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross shared his thoughts on the possibility of the two Canadian wrestlers patching things up and rejoining forces in AEW. His comments were,
“Indeed, such a scenario is always in the cards. I am all for it as their combined chemistry on the ring is nothing short of phenomenal. I have witnessed them in their prime and think that teaming up at this juncture in their career can be a great move. If the aim is to invigorate your tag team division, this could very well be the kickoff you need.”
Within WWE, Cage and Copeland have formed a formidable pair over the years, even clinching multiple Tag Team Champion titles. The last time they teamed up was in March 2011.
Currently sidelined due to an injury incurred during Double or Nothing, Adam Copeland remains absent from action. In contrast, Cage remains a consistent presence on AEW programming.
During the course of his podcast, Ross also commented on the perplexing choices made by Vince McMahon regarding Cage’s career in WWE. Click here for more information.
