In a recent iteration of his “Grilling JR” podcast, famed wrestling commentator Jim Ross discussed a variety of topics, encompassing the comeback of MJF in AEW and the potential switch of Ricochet to the same platform.
Here are some salient points from the podcast:
Regarding MJF’s AEW re-entry, Ross expressed: “Undeniably, he is a significant player. He perpetually keeps everyone on their toes. The man has an impressive knack for wrestling, particularly the drama that accompanies it. It seems he was exploring possibilities of an offer from WWE, which unfortunately didn’t pan out. His value is immense. He’s smart and an asset with potential. The brilliance of his mind is reminiscent of a young Paul Heyman, understanding all the facets of the game. I am thrilled he is back. He is never dull and always brings something new to the table, hence why I see a bit of Heyman in him.”
When questioned about the possibility of Ricochet joining AEW, Ross responded: “It would not be surprising. However, its impact greatly depends on how he is positioned, presented, and introduced. He is definitely a talented individual, although I’d appreciate if he focused a little more on fundamentals. But considering his talents, the AEW brand would make for a perfect professional home. Tony Khan has done an impressive job building an extraordinary rooster at AEW. Ricochet can add a new dimension to the platform if showcased appropriately. He’s got promise and undeniable talent.” [embedded content]
