WWE superstar Randy Orton’s originally planned fight versus Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 41 has been discontinued, yet loyal followers of the Legend Killer might still witness him take the ring at Allegiant Stadium.

Wrestling commentator and podcaster Jim Ross hinted in a recent episode of his “Grilling JR” podcast, that Dutch pro-wrestler, Aleister Black might become Orton’s opponent, following Black’s comeback to WWE. Ross commented,

“Indubitably, I’ve admired Black’s ring work for a long time. Hence, his involvement in a storyline and his flexibility in opposing any wrestler, sit well with me. If asked to guess Orton’s opponent, I’d put my money on Aleister Black.”

Continuing his admiration for Black, Ross said,

“Barring none, Black’s a ring maestro. His stint in AEW, from my perspective, was both engaging and well executed. Let’s see how things unfold.”

Official word came in during the early phases of 2025 stating that Black had concluded his tenure with AEW, after jumping onboard the promotion in 2021. He holds the title of the former AEW Trios Champion.

Black isn’t going to be the only AEW alumnus making waves on WWE TV. As per reports, Miro aka Rusev, who parted ways with WWE in 2020, is expected to rejoin the brand after inking a brand new contract.

The shift in plans regarding Orton’s match with Kevin Owens springs from an unfortunate neck injury that Owens sustained. This situation now mandates a surgery for the Canadian pro-wrestler.
