Jim Ross, a commentator at AEW, is uncertain about what AI actually is but is optimistic that his grandchildren will have the chance to hear his voice in its digital form someday.
Over the recent year, AI technology is being increasingly harnessed to duplicate the voices of various people, one example being the 16-times WWE World Champion, John Cena.
In a recent session of “Grilling JR”, his podcast, Ross discussed the prospect of his own voice being replicated by AI for his grandkids to hear. The commentator responded, “First of all, I don’t know what the f*** AI is. I know it’s out there. I’ve heard people talk about it. But I’m just being very upfront and frank because that’s how I work. So I’m not the best person to explain my potential in AI. To the second part of the question, that would be really cool for my grandkids or their kids to see grandpa doing his thing, so if I could get paid for it [laughs], I’m happy to do it.”
Jim Ross is globally recognized as one of the finest commentators in the history of the sport. In 2007, as a symbol of his enormous contributions, he was enlisted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Ross, who hails from Oklahoma, has been an AEW commentator since 2019. However, he has taken multiple hiatuses from his work due to health complications.
