Jim Ross stopped by News 4 out of Jacksonville before AEW Dynamite returns to it’s homebase tonight for a special New Year’s Day episode of the program. The Hall of Famer’s time on the show was brief, but JR did have some interesting comments about the talent AEW has and the company owner, Tony Khan.
“Well we have a very aggressive ownership. Tony Khan has done an amazing job of assembling a team. We’re still in the process of assembling that team. Lot of really outstanding young wrestlers are still discovering who they are and where they’re going to be, what they’re going to be. It’s fun to see them grow and evolve, but we also got some great veterans.”
JR goes on to talk further about Khan, putting the young owner of AEW in high company as far as wrestling minds go.
“He’s a fan and he’s very, very intelligent. Tony is the smartest young wrestling guy I’ve ever been around and I worked for Vince McMahon for over a quarter of a century so that’s saying something.”
JR also goes on to talk about the heartbreaking loss his Oklahoma Sooners took from the white-hot LSU Tigers last weekend. You can see the entire clip of the interview by going here.
