During an episode of his popular “Grilling JR” podcast, Jim Ross, a noted WWE Hall of Famer, gave his thoughts on two AEW Revolution 2025 championship matches — Mariah May against Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Title, and Kenny Omega taking on Konosuke Takeshita for AEW International Championship.
Here’s a glimpse of what the podcast contained:
In the topic of Kenny Omega challenging AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita, Ross says, “I foresee a show-stopping performance. It’s my belief that the match will end with Kenny Omega being victorious. Takeshita has already proven his worth, no doubt. But it’s high time for Kenny to get back into his groove and surprise us all with his unmatched skills. You’d only look and think, ‘Whoa, what did I just witness? It’s Kenny Omega, of course. He’s truly talented.’ That’s my take on this. Not only will it be a highpoint of the evening, but Omega will be the one standing tall in the end.”
Ross further discusses the face-off between Toni Storm and Mariah May, “If there was an MVP award to be handed out to someone in AEW right now based on recent performances, Toni Storm would undoubtedly be the one to walk away with it. She has been the standout performer in the company, in my opinion. But the competition is not far behind, especially her opponent Mariah May. May has created her own space in the wrestling world in a surprisingly short span of time, shooting to fame almost instantly. It’s not an easy feat to achieve.”
