In a recent episode of “The Hacksaw Hour” podcast, WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, expressed his opinion that Steve Lombardi, better known as The Brooklyn Brawler, has earned his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Please find below some remarkable highlights from the podcast:
On the issue of The Brooklyn Brawler being worthy of a WWE Hall of Fame spot, Duggan observed: “Indeed, I sincerely believe Lombardi had an exceptional career. He consistently remained pertinent through numerous talent management alterations – or talent relations as some prefer to call it … Lombardi is a veritable survivor. Contrarians might say, ‘Oh, but he was never a champion.’ Well, obviously, it’s not all about championship belts. The crux is how long one can persist in an industry where a five-year career is deemed significant. Lombardi, however, boasted a 20-year run in the industry.”
Discussing The Brooklyn Brawler’s career longevity, Duggan said: “Undoubtedly, credit is due for Lombardi. Regardless of whether you admire or disapprove of him, or whether you credit or discredit his activities, he brought the character of the Brooklyn Brawler to life, embraced various gimmicks, and maintained his relevance and prolonged existence in the industry. Consequently, I believe he deserves recognition – I certainly do.”
