Jim Crockett Jr. Passes Away At 76 After Organ Failure

Jim Crockett Jr.

Former wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. has passed away at the age of 76.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express’ Robert Gibson confirmed the passing on his Facebook account. “Rest In Peace Jim Crockett Jr. You will be missed by so many,” Gibson wrote. Over the weekend, it was reported that Crockett’s liver and kidneys were failing and that he was in grave condition. Unfortunately, the wrestling promoter has passed away.

Crockett’s father founded the legendary Jim Crockett Promotions and Jr. took over the family business in 1977. A former National Wrestling Alliance President, Crockett Jr. purchased a WTBS time slot from Vince McMahon and eventually sold the company to Ted Turner in 1988. The promotion was later renamed World Championship Wrestling, where it saw even more success.

WrestleZone offers condolences to Crockett Jr.’s friends and family during this time.
