Jim Cornette Files Federal Lawsuit For Likeness On G-Raver Shirts

Jim Cornette is putting the attorney services of Stephen P. New to work as his ongoing situation with independent wrestler G-Raver rages on.
According to The Altoona Mirror, Cornette is filing a federal lawsuit against the Brownsville, Pennsylvania-based The Indy Connection for selling his likeness and name on the G-Raver shirt that said “Fuck Jim Cornette.”
The graphic language is not the issue for Cornette, but the unauthorized used of his likeness and his name are the true subject at hand according to West Virginia attorney Robert P. Dunlap II.
The t-shirt stems from Cornette and G-Raver (real name Brandon Raver) getting into an exchange on Twitter in which Cornette joked about G-Raver suffering a horrific injury at a Black Label Pro show over the course of Starrcast III weekend back in late August. Raver in turn made the aforementioned tee shirt and that’s when the legal aspects began blooming. Cornette returned the volley with an exact remake of the shirt on his website as a response while Indy Connection owner William Molnar applied to trademark the phrase and use of the domain name. Cornette and Attorney New have filed for objection to that with the USPTO back in September.
