Jey Uso’s Journey of Personal Growth During the Pandemic, Shelton Benjamin Discusses Life After WWE

In a recent appearance on the “Gorilla Position” podcast, Jey Uso discussed his career progress as a WWE singles star and mentioned that he experienced significant growth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The lockdown phase marked Jey’s first singles run, which included several matches with Roman Reigns.

Uso revealed that Reigns was initially scheduled to feud with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt during that time. He said,

I definitely ‘leveled up’ during (the) pandemic, cuz 2020 there was no one there. So, it’s literally Paul [Heyman], Hunter (Triple H), me, Roman; that’s the most interaction I’ve ever had with them, more intimate than ever, uce. We just was leveling up every single week. Things were evolving every week to where: we did this last week, we need to say that, we need to go here. And that was every single week, uce. All the way up to past Sami Zayn, every week it was like that: what we doing? What we doing?”

In a recent interview with WhatCulture, Shelton Benjamin expressed his interest in exploring various career opportunities after being released by WWE last year.

Among these options, Benjamin has mentioned his strong desire to return to Japan. He said,

My immediate plan is to just coast a bit and see what is out there, see what life has to offer. For seven years, I was with WWE and I had a ten-year run with them before that. For now, I’m not in any rush. I’m keeping my options open. I can’t say anyone is more of a front-runner than anybody. I definitely want to come back to the UK. I’m desperate to get back to Japan. I really really want to go back to Japan.
