Jesse Ventura, a WWE Hall of Fame member, recently took to his official Substack account to share his thoughts on his comeback to WWE broadcasting during the recent Main Event XXXVII, aired on Saturday.
He expressed great pride in being back with WWE, in particular, recognizing the entity’s ongoing leadership. He penned, “It was truly a meet again to return to my WWE roots. I must express my gratitude to my son, Tyrel Ventura, who initiated the talks last summer. Coming back to where my career took a giant leap has been an exhilarating experience.”
He further in-depth about the noticeable changes in the WWE. He noted the different ambiance backstage, lacking the ego clashes that were once prominent. Instead, he described an atmosphere of unity and creativity, starting from the executive ranks and trickling down to the dressing rooms. Ventura attributes this to the superb leadership of Paul “HHH” Levesque, who fosters a culture of collective success and progress. He went on to say, “Paul, Nick Kahn, and the whole WWE team are laying the foundation of a truly distinctive and amazing atmosphere, unlike anything I’ve seen in the wrestling world.”
Ventura also appeared on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast where he discussed mending the past differences with WWE, shared valuable insights for the current WWE Superstars, among other issues.
Below are some highlighted points from the podcast:
Discussing his return to WWE, he confessed to having mixed feelings about the decision. However, an incident that impressed him deeply was how Triple H was present to greet him when he arrived at the arena for RAW. Another factor behind his WWE return is his children, as he wants them to benefit from his legacy and the WWE’s ‘legends’ initiative makes it possible.
Regarding the current generation of WWE superstars, Ventura emphasizes on preparation for the future. He explained how the wrestling styles had evolved, blending the American style and lucha libre, the Mexican wrestling style, leading to more high-risk maneuvers. For Ventura, his favorite wrestler is Dominik due to his performance platform. Nevertheless, he stressed the need to remind the young wrestlers of life beyond the ring and the importance of safeguarding their future.
