Bryan Danielson’s reign as AEW World Champion may be under threat due to his physical condition, according to well-known wrestler Jeff Jarrett.
In recent years, Danielson’s future as an active wrestler has been debated extensively with Danielson himself conceding that his days in the wrestling ring are numbered.
Jarrett shared his insights on Danielson’s future during an episode of his “My World” podcast, referencing a recent backstage encounter. He stated,
“I came through the curtain last night between Dynamite and Rampage. There were two production guys and two wrestlers present, and though they didn’t put it into words exactly, the sentiment was, ‘This ain’t the last Dynamite you’re going to see Bryan Danielson.’ To which I responded, ‘Well, pal, there could very well be a possibility of that.’ They couldn’t believe it.”
“Seeing him walk around, you can tell that this industry can take a toll in so many different ways. I foresee a day when Bryan may not be able to surmount his physical challenges. I pray it isn’t this Saturday. Bryan’s presence in AEW and the wrestling ring is indeed a blessing, and I believe he will remain a part of AEW for a while, but there’s a slight chance Saturday could mark the end of his full-time career.”
Danielson is set to defend his AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley at the upcoming AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view event in Tacoma, Washington this weekend.
At the AEW All Out 2024 event, Moxley back-stabbed Danielson and tried to asphyxiate him with a plastic bag during the show’s climax.
