Jeff Jarrett, in an episode of his “My World” podcast, recently pondered upon his 2013 attempt to buy TNA with Toby Keith. He pondered specifically whether his attempts were thwarted because TNA’s owners were insistent on Dixie Carter continuing her role on television.

Here are a few notable points shared by Jarrett during his podcast:

On the negotiation process that occurred in 2013, Jarrett said: “There was never a point during the entire negotiation, from February to December of 2013, where Dixie’s role as an on-screen character was ever discussed. In fact, we didn’t even talk about the kind of position she would be in. Bob Carter, very clearly, understood that whoever takes charge of this would do just what I do. He had invested his own money and so, if I became the main investor, I would be free to operate it as I needed to. He was more prepared to forfeit his investment than relinquish control.”

Jarrett then added, “When the lawyers and Janice, approached Toby without my knowledge, and met him in Oak City. They essentially said, ‘Hey, we’d like you to be part of this, but without Jeff,’ a meeting that didn’t last more than 15 minutes. Even in that short, sneaky meeting, no mention was made of Dixie.”

Speaking about Hulk Hogan’s association with Dixie Carter on the show, Jarrett stated: “Hulk’s performance was only for one person, and that’s Dixie Carter. Not Bob Carter, but Dixie Carter.”
