In the latest episode of his podcast “My World”, WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Jeff Jarrett, reminisced about TNA Wrestling’s strategic move to bring in Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in 2004. He spoke about the subsequent reactions from the locker room, his personal relationship with Nash, among other topics.
Here’s a quick rundown of what Jeff shared on his podcast:
Jeff went on to describe the reaction of TNA locker room to the induction of Hall and Nash, stating: “Looking at individuals like AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, Chris Harris, James Storm, Eric Young, or Bobby Roode, I could see their desire to excel. I fully backed their aspirations, but it was clear they weren’t thrilled with the new additions. ‘Hold on, you’re getting Hall and Nash on board, they’re not even going to take many hits and are going to receive more pay?’ Yes, it was dynamite waiting to explode. As I’ve always expressed, it was nothing short of a pressure cooker situation.”
Jarrett also touched on his bond with Kevin Nash: “Our association dates back to our early days. Kevin joined WWF around ’93, and I followed soon after. Since then, we have travelled and trained together extensively. Kevin has indeed been a mentor to me in the gym. Together with Scott, they groomed me in ‘WWF ways’ as it was then. I believe our mutual interest in the TV show Friends says a lot about how far back we go in our careers before he became a champion and made a name for himself. We’ve experienced the highs and lows together, which has given depth to our relationship.”
