Jeff Jarrett, during a recent episode of his podcast “My World,” opened up about the events that led to his 2009 return to TNA Wrestling. He had left the organization in 2008 over backstage tensions, notably with Kurt Angle among others.

Some notable parts from the podcast are highlighted below:

Jarrett spoke about how Dixie Carter capitalized on his first departure from TNA. He stated, “Dixie was in the loop about the relationship between Kurt and Karen. Our relationship started long after their marriage had collapsed. Dixie leveraged this situation to secure more control. I have mentioned this a number of times on the podcast already.”

Regarding his return to TNA TV in 2009, he explained, “In a discussion with Hulk, it was clear they were trying to sort things out. Dixie put the blame on the attorneys and Kurt, the latter of whom didn’t care about it. She gave me multiple excuses, but I didn’t ask for clarification as I was the largest single shareholder of the organization. I knew we would reach a solution at some point. Later, I got a call from Vince Russo who suggested I get back in the game as a talent. Soon after, I received a call from a lawyer who outlined my return.”

The lawyer informed Jarrett that his focus would be on live events and international arenas. He would eventually become aware of the shifting dynamics with Russo, Hogan, and even Eric. The call from Russo was unexpected, with Russo emphasizing their desire to bring him back. However, he was not informed about the six-sided ring or his exact position. Russo suggested he present a disheveled and disengaged look, to which Jarrett agreed despite his inability to grow a satisfactory beard.

Concerning the absence of consecutive matches with Kurt Angle in his return, he commented, “Dixie was apprehensive. She detested Karen, plain and simple. On the day Vince Russo called me, he asserted, ‘Bro, the money is Jeff, Kurt and Karen itself,’ implying that was the golden trio.”
