In the latest episode of his “My World” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett shared his thoughts on the unexpected turn of events where John Cena switched alliances against Cody Rhodes in the recent WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto over the past weekend.

Here are some key takeaways from this episode of the podcast:

Regarding the possibility of Cena concluding his WWE career on a villainous note, Jarrett stated, “Well, it’s anybody’s guess. The very fact that discussions like these are happening is exactly what they aim for. Creating buzz and stirring conversations hold great value for the industry. From what we have observed again and again, wrestling continues to gain popularity. Yet, no one can predict definitively if there isn’t a turn of events where Cody outshines him. Perhaps, The Rock enters the ring, slams Cena verbally and Cena retorts with an F5 leaving the ring. Cena could bounce back as a hero and we might progress with the farewell tour. I don’t believe this alters their revenue in any way. Nor can I see a future in 2026 where Cena voluntarily disappears from view. His full-time wrestling stint probably wraps up with his show in December. But I have no doubt that he will continue to create heartwarming moments in 2026. It’s far from over. It never is.”

On Cena switching sides during the final phase of his career instead of midway, Jarrett added, “That’s probably the jolting part. It made me recall our conversation regarding how Vince used to function and his opposition to this thought process. Just envision the scenario if it had occurred in let’s say, 2019 or ’18 – that would certainly have been intriguing. With his current farewell tour, it all becomes increasingly interesting. But I don’t think we’ve witnessed the last surprising flip of loyalties.”
