During a latest episode of his well-known podcast, “My World,” Jeff Jarrett expressed his point of view about AJ Styles leaving and how it was the conclusive blow for the original TNA Wrestling brand.
Here are some noteworthy points from the podcast episode:
Jeff’s discussion on his contract talks with AJ Styles went like this, “Whenever it was time for negotiation, AJ Styles was never harsh. One thing for sure, he had the upper hand because he had other options available. His loyalty to the brand is commendable and I deeply appreciate that. He managed to improve year after year. From mic skills to character development to his innate athletic prowess; everything just kept getting better. Since the inception, AJ was indeed the stronghold of the X Division.”
Jeff reflected on how AJ’s exit marked the end for TNA, “The moment he decided to part ways, I believe for the brand it was a clear indicator of downfall. Particularly for the original TNA fans, this was the harsh reality. Though the period with Hulk Hogan was like a series of calamities on the brand, I think AJ’s departure surely emerged as the last straw.”
