In a recent interview with the “Theonemona” podcast prior to TNA Bound for Glory 2024, renowned wrestler Jeff Hardy disclosed that the seminal ladder match between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels had a profound impact on sparking his and his brother’s wrestling careers.
Highlights from the podcast interview are given below:
Talking about their biggest source of inspiration: “Unquestionably, the monumental ladder match between Shawn Michaels – ‘The Heartbreak Kid’, and Razor Ramon greatly impacted us. As adolescents, we watched their match and began imitating their ring actions on a trampoline. As time progressed, we transitioned to implementing these actions in real wrestling rings. That’s essentially how we carved a niche in our careers.”
Discussing their historic tag team ladder match at No Mercy 1999: “It’s safe to say that our careers took a significant turn for the better following that groundbreaking tag team ladder match.”
Embedded below is the complete interview featuring the Hardy Boyz where they discuss a dramatic clash, their experiences with TNA, and their affinity for ladder matches.
In a separate episode of the “Good Karma Wrestling” podcast, AEW wrestler Kris Statlander highlighted her debt of gratitude towards established wrestler Orange Cassidy.
Kris Statlander’s thoughts on Orange Cassidy: “It’s inevitable that I’ll be forever grateful to Orange Cassidy. Despite my actions against him, I find myself owing him a lot. Although some people might despise him, my admiration for him, both as a person and a wrestler, remains unchanged. I can confidently say that my wrestling journey wouldn’t be as rewarding if Orange Cassidy was absent.”
