Jeff Cobb appears to have some plans set as far as his wrestling future goes.
Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported that Cobb has not signed a new deal with Ring Of Honor after his previous contract just expired in January. He was reportedly offered a new contract by the company and turned it down. His plan as of right now is to work independent and work with ROH on an as needed basis. Dave Meltzer is reporting that both Cobb and Colt Cabana have an interest in working New Japan dates considering the promotion has a handful of United States-based events planned.
Cobb’s initial ROH contract was only for one year and in a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Cobb did state that he didn’t want to be tied down.
“I initially signed for one year. That was another reason I decided to go with Ring of Honor. Impact offered me a two-year deal. I was telling Sonjay Dutt at the time I just got out of a bad relationship with the Lucha (Underground) contract, so I didn’t want to be tied down for a long period of time. They really wanted to push the two-year contract, and I didn’t want something long term because I got out of this crazy 7-9 year contract…”
