In a recent guest appearance on the podcast “Something To Wrestle With”, WWE Hall of Famer JBL shared his thoughts on CM Punk’s impactful promo from the March 3rd WWE RAW episode. Below, you can read some of the key takeaways from the discussion on the podcast:
Speaking about the March 3rd promo by CM Punk during WWE RAW, JBL said “Fantastic. I commend what CM Punk has been pulling off. You know, often, your earlier accomplishments and past experiences contribute significantly to your present actions. So it’s not just an enlightening promo, it’s also the lineage that CM Punk has made right to this point. And in my opinion, CM Punk has been consistently impressive over the last few years.”
JBL also shared his views about Roman Reigns’ possible participation for WrestleMania: “I would conjecture — while I don’t have any internal knowledge. This is pure hypothesizing. But I feel it’s rewarding when the predictions of these armchair experts turn out to be inaccurate, not because they were off the mark but because the element of curiosity they added. It’s interesting to speculate just like they do. Considering the scenario, I presume Roman is going to participate in some capacity. And if the hint by Rock towards the third person is to be taken, maybe Roman is that third person.
“Roman is the connecting piece here. And owing to his noticeable absence, I believe it implies that he’ll be part of this. I feel if Roman’s visible on the TV show and he’s interacting with someone else? Perhaps we can assume that Roman is shifting gears. But given Roman’s absence, my belief is that he is likely to participate in this. I am hopeful of that, because that would mean you’re bringing in a character who has headlined more WrestleManias than anyone else amongst all these illustrious stars. Coupling that with Cody Rhodes, who has performed wonderfully over the last two years. I don’t foresee how we can add more star power than this.”
